Citrus Bloom Declared

Citrus Bloom Declared for District 1 and 2:   The Fresno County Department of Agriculture has announced the citrus bloom period for District 1 & 2 will start at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.  All citrus growers, pest control operators and beekeepers must comply with the regulations covering the citrus/bee protection areas (California Code of Regulations Sections 6654 and 6656).  The area within one mile of any citrus planting of one acre or more is designated as a citrus/bee protection area.  Anyone having questions regarding the bloom period or the citrus/bee regulations should phone the Fresno County Department of Agriculture at (559) 456-7510 and ask for the Apiary Division.
